Everyday Greatness - Timeless Inspiration For All of Us

Everyday Greatness by Steven Covey is a great source of inspiration and serves to introduce us to perhaps a different kind of hero.  The past few years have been harsh and challenging for all too many of us.  These same years have tested our character and sense of purpose.  From this perspective, Everyday Greatness finds it's place in our hands, with its timeless and motivational stories, quotes, and anecdotes.

Unlike most books that must be read cover to cover, Everyday Greatness presents topical stories and chapters that can be read on their own.  When rare talents and incredible feats of courage make the headlines, we all celebrate those moments together.  The real hero is the person who does their best every day without concern or regard for the fanfare to recognize their accomplishments.

We seldom set aside the time we need to reflect on the events that affect us in our daily lives and how we in turn affect the lives of others.  I trust you will find Everyday Greatness to be a truly remarkable collection of writings that demonstrates how we can all contribute to the lives of others and ultimately make this world a better place to live. When we aspire to be the best that we can be, we learn that we ARE the difference that can make the world a better place live.

This book is based on a collection of writings from the classic Reader's Digest.  David K. Hatch was responsible for compiling the work while Steven Covey offers his insights and commentary.  This book is sure to warm the soul in all of us.

Enjoy!

Lean, Six Sigma, and the Theory of Constraints

Teaching and developing new ideas and processes to a team of people can be a real challenge, especially in a manufacturing environment.  For this reason, we are very fond of well written business novels that appeal to people from all walks of life and age groups.  Business novels provide a unique bridge that literally place everyone on the same page regardless of experience.

As lean practitioners, we typically find that the same problems plague manufacturers regardless of the industry or sector they serve:  Efficiency, Effectiveness, Scheduling, Inventory Management, and Quality.  As the subject of this post suggests, a strategy exists and is presented by way of two classic business novels that are well worth reading and serve as excellent references for your team:

Velocity: Combining Lean, Six Sigma and the Theory of Constraints to Achieve Breakthrough Performance - A Business Novel

The Goal: A Process of Ongoing Improvement

These classics present uniquely different stories in a manner that allow you to connect with the characters and experience the problem solving process first hand.  We incorporate these novels into the training materials that we use when working with our clients.  While some have suggested that we are giving away "our secrets", we remind them that our objective is to be the catalysts of change for companies desiring self-sustained success.

Do these methods work?  We have successfully deployed strategies similar to those described by these two books.  Order your copies today and get a head start on your turn around strategy now.  These books are available at great prices.  Search Amazon.com for goldratt

Recommended Reading: The High-Velocity Edge, Chasing the Rabbit

We have raved about Steven Spear's "Chasing The Rabbit" and now the book has been updated and released under a new title, "The High-Velocity Edge".  This book provides tremendous insights across a diverse range of industries and businesses.

We  were impressed by the integrity and research presented with each chapter.  This isn't just one person's opinion, it is backed up by a wide range of supporting data and references.

While one book will never provide all the answers, this book provides a wealth of information that will point you in the right direction.  This is a great read for any true business leader or entrepreneur looking to improve their business enterprise.

We also recommend Chasing the Rabbit, the predecessor to The High-Velocity Edge. Of course this is a matter of taste and availability.  Either choice will make a great addition to your library.

Own Your Domain - Why You Need to Register

Having a registered domain name is a must if you are looking to establish a credible presence on the internet.
The reasons for this are many, however, TRUST is a major consideration for every purchase that is made on the internet.

We thought the best way to get you started was to point you to the same place where we got our domain.  Yes, we shopped the net just like you and found namecheap to be one of the lowest cost providers of domain registration and hosting options.  The process was quick and easy.

Domain Registrations starting at $9.98*

Why YOU Need to Register Your Domain - Today!

Name Recognition:  Almost everyone expects a real business to have a "dot com" (.com) address.  It is important to note that "dot com" (.com)'s are quickly becoming more difficult to register as many names have already been taken.  Of course there are many other types of domains for you to choose from, however, the "dot com" almost always wins the search.

Branding:  Like name recognition, your domain is your brand.  When you register your domain, you are creating a brand that people will learn to recognize and trust.

Commitment:  A registered domain is a commitment to your customer that you are credible and can be trusted.
